ICAO member states, contracting parties to the Chicago Convention, are required to implement the necessary measures to ensure flight safety and to establish specific national regulations and documents.

This must mark all obstacles that may endanger air transport. One of the methods of marking aerial obstacles is the light beacon, which consists of one or more beacon lamps with different characteristics depending on where it is / are installed, the height of the obstacle and its horizontal dimensions. The beacon lamp may have a continuous or flashing red or white light.
